State College, PA – April 29, 2024 – Centre Foundation believes in the power of every individual to make a difference in their community. That’s why they created Centre Gives, a 36-hour online giving event that will kick off at 8:00 a.m. on May 8th and run through May 9th at 8:00 p.m. Centre Gives provides a platform for nonprofits in Centre County to raise funds online and increase awareness for their causes. It harnesses the collective generosity of the community to support a wide range of nonprofits across various sectors.

Don’t miss out on the fun! On May 8th and 9th, the Foundation invites all Centre County community members to visit CentreGives.org and donate to their favorite causes. Every donation, regardless of size, fuels vital programs and services that enrich our community. Every dollar donated through the Centre Gives campaign will receive a proportional boost from a $300,000 stretch pool provided by Centre Foundation and the Hamer Foundation, along with $40,000 in prizes. These incentives help maximize the impact of each contribution, making your donation go even further!

Imagine the joy of being a part of something bigger than yourself. Amy Frank, a local resident excited to participate as a donor again this year, shares, “The reason I love giving through Centre Gives is that it’s simple, straightforward, and really fun! It’s a way for our community to uplift all the amazing nonprofit organizations that make this place so special. For 36 hours, we all get to collectively celebrate those organizations and feel a part of them in a truly joyful and generative way.”

Since its inception in 2012, Centre Gives has invested over $17.2 million in local nonprofits, which serve our community in the areas of the arts, animals, education, environment, health & social services, and more. Last year alone, Centre Gives raised a record-breaking $2,316,315 through 15,213 total gifts to over 200 nonprofits in just 36 hours. Notably, Centre Gives has been voted the “Best Fundraising Event in State College” for nine consecutive years by State College Magazine readers, a testament to its enduring commitment to excellence and community engagement.

Molly Kunkel, CEO and President of Centre Foundation, says, “We’re so thrilled that every year, more donors and nonprofits participate in Centre Gives. Over the years, total giving has also progressively increased, showcasing the generosity of people in our region who eagerly anticipate and participate in this event.”

The nonprofits that enrich our lives rely on our support. Take a moment to visit the profiles of participating local nonprofits on CentreGives.org/organizations and learn about their impactful missions. Once you’ve explored, spread the word and encourage your friends, family, and colleagues to join in giving online on May 8th and 9th.

Centre Gives isn’t just about fundraising, states Rachael Hartman, Community Impact Director at Centre Foundation. “It’s about building connections and celebrating the incredible work being done by nonprofits throughout Centre County. It serves as a catalyst for community engagement, sparking conversations about pressing issues and inspiring residents to become involved in making a difference where they live.”

Centre Gives 2024 is sponsored by many forward-thinking community members, including the Hamer Foundation, FNB Wealth Management, Nestlerode & Loy Inc., Stuckey Mitsubishi, The Atherton Centre Group at Morgan Stanley, Frost & Conn Insurance, M&T Bank, King Financial Partners, McQuaide Blasko, Kish Bank, State College Police Department, The Hartman Agency, and Centre Foundation’s William H. & Amy Sue Martin Fund.

Seven Mountains Media, Centre Daily Times, and Lamar generously supported Centre Foundation’s advertising efforts for Centre Gives.

Once again, this year, we’ll celebrate the grand finale of the online fundraiser live at Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte during Centre Gives Fest on May 9th, from 5 pm until 8 pm. Hundreds of people will gather at Talleyrand Park to countdown the final hours of Centre Gives. The celebration will include music provided by DJ Elbow Knee Knee of Gorinto Productions, local food trucks, giving stations, and a variety of family-friendly activities hosted by participating nonprofits. Food Vendors include Brazilian Munchies food truck, Savory Station food truck, Bees Knees coffee, Sunset Slush Happy Valley, Pizza Mia, and Axemann Brewery.
