Giving Circle grants are chosen by Centre Foundation’s Giving Circle members, a group of community-minded individuals who pool their resources to make a bigger impact. Organizations are invited to apply, and then Giving Circle members vote to choose which three will present at the annual Giving Circle event. At the event, members listen to the presentations and then vote to decide which organization will receive a $10,000 grant. All presenting organizations receive a grant; those not chosen for the primary grant receive smaller grants.
How Giving Circle Works
This granting cycle begins in early summer when organizations are invited to apply. The final decision is made at the Giving Circle event in late summer. Funding for the Giving Circle grants comes from the Giving Circle Fund.
Since its inception in 2006, Giving Circle members have distributed $139,000 in grants to support programs throughout Centre County. Community members are encouraged to join to be part of this fun granting program.
