Centre PACT (Philanthropic Actions Created by Teens) is a program that brings together high school students from across the county to discuss issues facing their peer group, learn about potential solutions that nonprofits offer, and ultimately fund the programs that they think will be most effective. Participating students establish focus areas and priorities they are interested in supporting, request proposals from local nonprofits, raise funds to support grants, and then decide which organizations to support.
How Centre PACT Works
This granting cycle begins in late fall when Centre PACT students request applications. Grants are awarded in late spring. Because students only meet monthly, the process for Centre PACT grants is a bit longer than that of our other programs. Funding for Centre PACT grants comes from the Centre PACT Fund.
This is the fourth year of the Centre PACT program. Since 2016, members of Centre PACT raised and granted over $22,000.
Centre PACT's 2018-2019 Theme: "Fostering Stability and Wellness throughout the Community"
Centre PACT is in search of programs that address issues of community wellness through housing and/or health-based programs. Special consideration will be given to those proposals that provide support to youth and their families, individuals who have a chronic illness or mental health condition, and/or survivors of domestic abuse or sexual assault.
Any 501(c)(3) Charitable Nonprofit Organization operating in Centre County is eligible to apply.
Applications are due by 5 pm on Friday, January 4, 2019. Grant decisions will be made in April 2019.
