Jeremy Wise Football Scholarship Fund
In memory of their son Jeremy "Douglas" Russell Wise, Dan and Kathleen Wise of Boalsburg established this fund to honor one of his passions: football. In 2002, Jeremy graduated from State College Area High School, where he played football and baseball. A dedicated athlete, Jeremy earned the most courageous athlete award for his character on and off the field. With a football scholarship under his belt, Jeremy played as a Colonial at Robert Morris University, while earning a finance degree. In 2006, he graduated and became a project engineer at Geo Con Environmental Barrier Corporation in Pittsburgh but still made sure he had time to coach. A four-year letterman, Jeremy used his knowledge to coach the Colonials while serving as a graduate assistant; he also was an assistant coach at North Catholic High School for a season before returning home to help State High win the 2009 PIAA State Championship. While Jeremy enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar, attending concerts, traveling, and spending time with family and friends, this fund honors his life-long passion for the game of football and will support SCASD senior football athletes who continue their education.
