Centre County Youth Service Bureau Endowment Fund
The Youth Service Bureau (YSB) understands the importance of investing in the future through Centre Foundation. Both organizations were founded by Judge R. Campbell, so it was clear to Norma Keller, YSB's long-time executive director, that opening a fund at the foundation was a wonderful way to honor his legacy at both organizations. Originally created through the gifts of a several donors, the fund received a significant contribution in 2011 from the estate of Catherine Imbt. The fund provides an important mechanism for the Youth Service Bureau to decrease its dependence upon government funding, with annual earnings applied to ongoing program expenses. Current programs include individual, family and group counseling, parent education, Big Brothers Big Sisters services, emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youth, transitional living, and drug and alcohol education/intervention. All services are designed to meet the unique needs of the Bald Eagle, Bellefonte, Penns Valley, Philipsburg and State College areas. This combination of diversified programs and individualized approaches to communities provide a full range of services to children and youth ages 0 to 21.
