On January 1, 2009, the Bellefonte and State College YMCAs merged to form the YMCA of Centre County. On January 1, 2012, the Moshannon Valley YMCA joined the merger. The original charter of the Bellefonte YMCA dates back to 1869 and is still held by the organization, making it the third oldest YMCA in Pennsylvania. This fund was created from the merging of three earlier funds, each supporting one of the three previous YMCAs. The YMCA of Centre County Fund supports the mission of this charitable, nonprofit organization, which provides opportunities for all individuals and families by putting high moral values and principals into practice through facilities, programs, services, and activities that build healthy spirit, mind, and body. The YMCA of Centre County fully accepts diversity and promotes community development and cooperation.
