State College, PA – April 20, 2023 – Centre Foundation will host Centre Gives Fest this year on May 11 at Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte from 5:30-9 p.m., rain or shine, to celebrate Centre Gives, its annual 36-hour online fundraiser for Centre County nonprofits.

Centre Gives Fest will bring the community together once again to celebrate the best fundraising event in Centre County and the people who make it possible. The event will feature music performances, local food vendors, and activities from several Centre County nonprofits.

Music performances will include indie-rock band OK Otter and DJ Elbow Knee Knee of Gorinto Productions. During the festivities, Pizza Mia, Savory Station, and Pelican’s SnoBalls will sell tasty food for attendees to enjoy. SoBar Space will provide refreshments in the form of elevated mocktails.

To incorporate the spirit of Centre Gives, local nonprofits will provide family-friendly activities that showcase their organization and the work they do in the community.

Since 2012, Centre Gives has raised $14,600,000 to support local nonprofit organizations which serve our community in the areas of the arts, animals, education, environment, health & social services, and more.

During Centre Gives, individuals can choose from a list of over 200 nonprofits to support with a gift of $10 or more at CentreGives.org. Gifts made during this time go further thanks to $300,000 in stretch pool funding.

Stretch pool funding is provided by Centre Foundation and the Hamer Foundation, which for the seventh consecutive year has graciously donated $100,000 in support of Centre Gives. The more money a nonprofit raises during the event, the larger the portion of the stretch pool that nonprofit will receive.

In addition to striving for stretch pool dollars, donors can help organizations compete for $40,000 in additional prizes that are offered throughout the event. Due to many generous sponsors, Centre Gives 2023 will have 14 Power Hours spread throughout the event. At the conclusion of each Power Hour, the small and large nonprofit with the most donations from unique donors will receive a prize.

Centre Gives features many more fun prizes for nonprofits to win, including a prize for receiving the gift that pushes the community impact total past $1M. The full prize list can be found at CentreGives.org.

“Each year, we are astounded by the thousands of generous donors who choose to make a difference by making a gift during Centre Gives,” said Molly Kunkel, President and CEO at Centre Foundation. “Centre Foundation and each of the 200 participating nonprofits thanks these generous community members who are creating a meaningful impact.”

Centre Gives 2023 will begin on Wed., May 10 at 8:00 am and conclude on Thurs., May 11 at 8:00 pm. Donations of $10 or more can be made at CentreGives.org.
