Centre Foundation Awarded $408,603 in Scholarships Last Year

State College, PA – March 15, 2023 – Scholarships managed by Centre Foundation are now open. Students who are interested should contact their respective guidance counselors to find out which scholarships they qualify for and how to apply.

In 2022, $408,603 was awarded to 230 local students attending 34 post-secondary schools. They received funding for their education, thanks to community members who have established awards and scholarship funds at Centre Foundation.

“Scholarship funds are an investment into the future of our community and in the students who are actively continuing their academic careers,” said Molly Kunkel, President and CEO at Centre Foundation. “We are fortunate to have generous donors who are committed to helping students pursue their educational goals.”

Recipients include graduating seniors from the five Centre County school districts, students graduating from select schools in neighboring counties, and returning adult learners.

“I’m excited to start working with the schools and students as they continue their academic careers. Scholarships are a unique way to help them pursue their passions within higher education,” said Krista Williams, Grants and Scholarship Administrator at Centre Foundation.

High school seniors wishing to apply for scholarships should contact their respective school districts to learn more.

Donors who wish to establish or contribute to a scholarship fund are encouraged to contact Kerry Tolton, Development and Stewardship Director at Centre Foundation at Kerry@centre-foundation.org or by calling (814) 237-6229.
