Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited Endowment Fund
On February 1, 1973, the Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited came into existence in order to combat the precarious predicament of Spring Creek. At this time, all insect life had been wiped out by toxic chemical levels, and a building boom in the watershed led to a major siltation problem. This fund supports the ongoing operations and programming for the Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Their mission is to conserve, protect, and restore Spring Creek's coldwater fishery and watershed. Their continued community outreach and educational programs for both youth and adults ensure that the public is well informed about how to care for and utilize the precious resource that is Spring Creek. Over the years, the chapter has taken on several large projects such as the restoration of Thompson Run, the removal of McCoy Dam, and continued stream clean-up in order to conserve, protect, and restore Spring Creek.
