Sherm Lutz was born in 1904 on a farm near Fillmore, a few miles west of State College.  He was a pioneer aviator, building several area airstrips in and around State College.  He gave many people the joy of flying through lessons and camaraderie.  And Sherm is still giving.  With a bequest, he created two funds within the Foundation.  This fund supports the church he attended as an adult in Lemont, the Spring Creek Presbyterian Church.
