Roy and Helen Van Horn Scholarship Fund
The Roy and Helen Van Horn Scholarship Fund was established by Barbara and Rick Van Horn in honor of Rick's parents, Roy and Helen Van Horn, and their lifelong dedication to Titusville and its school system. Roy Van Horn's entire career was spent in the Titusville school district, and he served in many capacities including teacher, coach, athletic director, and assistant superintendent. In 1954, Roy and Helen established Pioneer Ranch, a private boys and girls camp on the Allegheny River near East Hickory, PA. The camp also served as "Band Camp" for the Titusville High School marching band and the school district's Wilderness Quest, for many years. This scholarship supports graduates of Titusville High School planning to attend Slippery Rock University or Penn State University and who demonstrate academic achievement, good character, and participate in extracurricular activities.
