The Rick Van Horn Sons of the American Revolution Fund was established by Barbara Van Horn in honor of her husband, Rick. Rick joined the State College chapter of Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) as he became interested in his family history, tracing his parents' families back to their early history in this country. Rick served in several board roles of the State College chapter of SAR. As Secretary, Rick was recognized for his work on the quarterly newsletter in 2017 as runner-up for the Carl F. Bessent Award at the SAR's 127th Annual Congress. This Fund was established as part of Centre Foundation's 40 for 40 campaign and supports the activities and mission of the State College chapter of Sons of the American Revolution.
