Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra's founding conductor Douglas Meyer and his wife, Patricia Thornton, established this endowment fund in 2012 to support and ensure a secure future for the PCO whose mission is "to provide the Central Pennsylvania region with an artistically superb orchestra and orchestra concerts, as well as to develop an environment where the awareness and appreciation for orchestral music will flourish." The fund has grown steadily since it was established, and it was transferred to Centre Foundation in January 2018 to ensure continued growth and a strong future for the PCO. The PCO Endowment Fund will help provide financial support for PCO’s impressive concert seasons, administrative costs, and operating expenses incurred by an all-professional orchestra with world-class music director and soloists.
