Morrow Family Fund

David A. Morrow grew up on a dairy farm in Blair County, about 30 miles from State College. In 1956, he graduated from Penn State in 1956 and then went on to Cornell, where he met his future wife, Linda, and Bob Potter, the future executive director of Centre Foundation. After living in Michigan for nearly 20 years, the couple bought a house in State College and moved there with their three children. Dave served on the Penn State Board of Trustees and served a 2-year term as president of the Penn State Alumni Association in the early 1990s. His aunt, Elizabeth C. Morrow, grew up on the same dairy farm and earned her master’s degree at Penn State before becoming a well-respected State College High School English teacher who taught from the 1940s to 1960s. She also wrote the words to the second verse of the State High alma mater. She was a dedicated member of the State College Presbyterian Church and was the first woman elected as Moderator of Huntingdon Presbytery. This fund supports Centre Foundation’s discretionary funds, which are used to meet the changing needs of Centre County residents.
