Louise W. Hamilton Fund

Louise Hamilton was originally from Hamilton, Ohio and attended Iowa State University before making Happy Valley her home.  She graduated from Penn State in 1955 with a master's degree in nutrition.  Louise was a registered dietitian and professor of food science at Penn State until her retirement in 1987.  She was a founding member of the State College Meals on Wheels, serving on the board from its inception in 1971 until 2002, when she was made an honorary board member.  Louise was also a member of the State College Presbyterian Church, the Bellefonte chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member and former president of the American Dietetic Association. The Louise W. Hamilton Fund, established through her bequest, will continue her support of Meals on Wheels. State College Area Meals on Wheels prepares and delivers nutritious, affordable meals to the elderly and disabled living within the State College School District to help maintain their quality of life and allow them to remain in their own homes.
