Liftoff Fund for Child Development and Family Council of Centre County
The Liftoff Fund for Child Development and Family Council of Centre County, Inc. was established through a collaborative effort spearheaded by CDFC board member, Doug Erikson, along with many generous community members who shared Doug's passion for this organization. With over a decade of experience on the board, Doug understands what the programs in State College, Penns Valley, and Philipsburg mean to the families who rely on them. Parents enjoy peace of mind, knowing that licensed professionals will be there to jump-start their children's educations and life skills. CDFC's programs include early child care and education programs for children ages six-weeks to kindergarten, before and after-school care, summer camp programs, and field trips for children ages six-weeks to 12-years-old. Since 1972, this organization has provided quality care options that are enriching, inclusive, educational, and accessible to families of all income levels. Specifically, this fund supports the Centre County Child Care & Education Safety Net Program for Children and Youth. This program helps families obtain quality early care and education services for their children while they are working, job training, job searching, educating, rehabilitating, etc. Parents in need of financial assistance for child care services for children ages six-weeks to twelve years may apply for financial assistance from the Safety Net Program.
