Kathryn and Roy Shoemaker were life-long residents of the Centre Region, where Roy was a businessman and farmer. Their love of the area inspired them to share their resources with the community. A fund has been established from their estate at Centre Foundation with disbursements being distributed to thirteen charitable organizations named as beneficiaries, all of which serve Centre County residents. Collectively, these organizations support people with sight loss, seniors in need of home care and support services, emergency service providers, people battling cancer, as well as a variety of other human services. Additionally, the fund also provides two State College Area High School seniors with scholarships to pursue the field of agriculture at Penn State.
