Housing Transitions Fund
Housing Transitions formed this fund to support the creation of affordable housing for Centre County residents. HTI is a nonprofit corporation offering a variety of housing services to Centre County residents in need. They believe that housing crises are caused by a multitude of personal and financial difficulties that must be handled properly in order to arrive at sustainable solutions. Having a stable housing environment allows families and individuals to more effectively address underlying problems and increase their self-sufficiency. Centre House, their core program, provides shelter and food to clients who are homeless or in crisis. The shelter is open and staffed 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. There is no charge to the client to stay at Centre House. The Centre House Case Manager works with each individual or family to set objectives for employment, housing, child care services, etc.; review progress; and coordinate and make referrals to other community services. Every resident is expected to work toward their goals and make progress while staying in the shelter.
