Donald J. Epp Memorial Fund
In 1967, Donald “Don” Epp and his wife, Cathryn, moved to State College, where they raised their son and daughter. Upon retiring, Don volunteered as the head of the Patton Township Planning Commission for eight years. After reaching his term limit, he quickly found his niche at Centre Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM), where Don greeted patients and helped out at the reception desk. Cathryn fondly remembers, "He enjoyed it very much. He enjoyed working with the staff and the other volunteers. Don had a very friendly personality—he was very caring, and he helped people feel good about themselves.” Cathryn established this fund to honor Don's caring spirit and to continue his dedication to those who rely on CVIM's essential healthcare services. CVIM provides medical and dental care, case management, and necessary medications at no cost to qualified uninsured residents of Centre County.
