Centre County PAWS Fund
This fund benefits Centre County PAWS, a non-euthanasia, member-supported, volunteer-enabled organization dedicated to the promotion of animal welfare and safety. PAWS is committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs, educating citizens on responsible pet ownership, providing spay/neuter assistance, and ending pet overpopulation. Centre County PAWS was founded in 1980 by a group of concerned Centre County residents who wanted to help the stray and unwanted cats in the area. The organization started as a foster group, operating out of people's homes and doing adoptions by calling friends to find homes for the cats. In 2007, PAWS opened their own home at 1401 Trout Road in State College, where they house dozens of cats and dogs at any given time, adopting out about 550 animals per year.
