Centre County Association of School Retirees Scholarship Fund
The hundreds of people who make up the Centre County Association of School Retirees' membership feel passionately about helping public schools and the students and employees of those institutions. CCASR was founded in 1965 as a chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, which had been formed in 1937. The organization is open to all retired public school employees who work to promote common interests in advocating for retired school employees, serve others in need, support public education, and help one another enjoy retirement. This fund provides a scholarship for a Centre County student who is in good academic standing, pursuing a field in education, and considered a good citizen. Priority is given to students with demonstrated financial need. The scholarship rotates among students attending academic programs in BEASD, BASD, PVASD, SCASD, and technical-vocational students in those school districts or Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology (CPI).
