Founded in 1962 by a group of local citizens, Counseling Service, Inc. was established to meet the need for mental health services in Centre County. For over 35 years, the organization provided a range of services including outpatient counseling, partial programs, case management, social rehabilitation, drug and alcohol rehab, and referral. When Counseling Service was sold in 1999, the proceeds were used to create this fund to assure that mental health services would continue to be available. Continuing the original mission of Counseling Service, Inc. this fund supports behavioral and mental health services for Centre County residents.
