How do you encourage the inspiration and love of music in a young musician’s life?  For brothers Gus and Huck Tritsch, ages 15 and 12, along with 75 other local young musicians, that inspiration came through free admission to a Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra concert, giving them the opportunity to watch a performance by local professional musicians. Both brothers play the violin, as well as a variety of other instruments, and they perform together as the Alleycats at various local events. But the chance to see a classical concert performed by professional musicians enabled them to be inspired in a new way, growing their love of music and seeing future possibilities. The concert, part of the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra’s musical mentorship program, was funded through a grant from the Patricia Farrell Music Fund.

Other local musicians have been inspired through grants awarded to Penn’s Woods Music Festival, State College Choral Society, and Central Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association.
