40 for 40 Campaign launches to open 40 new funds to celebrate 40 years
State College, PA – Nov. 18, 2021 – 40 years, 40 funds, and $1 million match is the mantra behind Centre Foundation’s 40 for 40 Campaign. To celebrate their 40-year anniversary, the foundation is matching donations to new endowments that directly benefit nonprofit organizations in Centre County.
With $1 million available, Centre Foundation is encouraging community members to open a new endowment designated to benefit a local nonprofit of their choice. Individuals or organizations can open a new endowment and the foundation will match 1:1 up to $25,000 per endowment. To qualify for the match, donors must give the $10,000 minimum required to open a new endowment. However, if the new endowment is designated to a local organization that does not already benefit from any endowment at Centre Foundation, the minimum gift will be reduced to $5,000.
“Our 40 for 40 Campaign is an exciting opportunity to offer even more funding for our local nonprofits,” said Molly Kunkel, Centre Foundation’s Executive Director. “We are grateful for our generous donors, who already give back so much to our community, and are looking forward to furthering their impact, as well as the impact of new donors who use this opportunity to start their first endowment.”
Donors are not limited to opening one endowment and are able to open multiple endowments to benefit different organizations. To encourage more community members to participate, the maximum any single donor or household can have matched is $100,000.
Matching dollars for the 40 for 40 Campaign will be available until Dec. 31, 2022, or until the $1 million is depleted. For specific guidelines or more information, visit Centre Foundation’s website at centre-foundation.org
