Sylvia was an active member of the State College community and was known for her energy, creativity, and commitment to the welfare and rights of others. Her work at Penn State and the Pennsylvania Space Grant Consortium, where she served as the director, centered on science and technology. Her husband, Dr. Gerald Stein, and Schlow Library created this fund with the contributions received in her memory. This endowment provides for the purchase of books, materials and programs for Schlow Centre Region Library. Schlow Centre Region Library opens doors for members of our diverse community to gather, share, and discover a wealth of ideas, the joy of reading, and the power of information by providing services and resources in a welcoming, convenient and responsive manner.
