Ruth Grier Robinson Fund
Ruth enjoyed being involved in community activities. As a young mother, she was a Girl Scout leader, first president of the Friends of the Museum of Art at Penn State (now the Friends of the Palmer Museum of Art), volunteer with Festival Theatre (now Penn State Centre Stage), board member for Centre Community Hospital Auxiliary Board, and member and president of the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. She was passionate about her family, enjoyed helping stray and rescued dogs, and cherished her and her husband Robbie’s second home, known as “The Island” on Great Harbour Cay, Bahamas. In the early 1970’s, Ruth developed a hobby for needle crafting. Rarely without her needlepoint, Ruth taught family and friends this beautiful art form over the years and adorned them with personalized accessories. She was also a founding member of the Sip and Stitch needlepoint group on Great Harbour Cay. This fund, and others which support the operation of Centre Foundation, provides stewardship for the future of Centre County. It allows Centre Foundation to provide greater funding and services to local charitable organizations, as well as enhance our services to the donor community.
