The State College Area High School Outstanding Visiting Alum Award is a prestigious award created by the District’s retired faculty, which recognizes the outstanding achievements of State High graduates. Nominations are submitted by retired faculty, and a committee of retired faculty selects the annual award recipient. The recipient spends a school day interacting with school district students and sharing his/her successful and positive experiences with them. The day concludes with the presentation of a plaque and a dinner in the recipient’s honor. The proceeds from the event benefit the Retired Faculty Educational Initiatives Fund, which supports instructional day activities, curricular experiences, and related classroom enhancements for SCASD.
