Norma H. Almquist Family and Consumer Sciences Fund
Norma Almquist graduated from Cornell University in 1941 from the College of Home Economics and married her husband, John, the following year. Norma taught Home Economics in New York and Indiana before the family moved to State College. From 1964 to 1975, Norma was the Coordinator of Home Economics for State College Area Schools. She thoroughly enjoyed her work, which this fund will continue to support. The fund will provide training, educational, or support services to teachers and support staff working in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department of the State College Area School District. Norma was also a member of Kappa Delta, a social sorority, as well as Delta Kappa Gamma, Professional Honorary Education sorority. She was a member and deacon of State College Presbyterian Church. Norma and John were blessed with three children, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Her recipes will live on through them, too.
