Betty Jane Mincemoyer wanted to create a legacy to her community while honoring the successes of her grandchildren and demonstrating to them the importance of giving back to your community.  She created four scholarship funds, one for each grandchild, and each fund honors a special interest or talent of that grandchild. Betty Jane Mincemoyer's granddaughter, Hanna, a 2010 graduate, was active as a member and leader in State College Area High School’s Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). This award recognizes a senior who demonstrates positive social and personal decision-making skills and who also provides leadership for student activities that promote those ideals.
