Martha Rabinowitz Memorial Fund for Congregation Brit Shalom
This fund was established by William Rabinowitz to honor the memory of his wife Martha. In 1946, at the age of 18, Martha graduated from Hunter College in New York City and subsequently did graduate work in rural sociology at Penn State. For many years, she worked with her husband William Rabinowitz, in the area of management consulting. Martha was wonderfully competent in the kitchen. Her cooking and baking were admired by all who had an opportunity to sample her fare. She was an enthusiastic traveler and traveled all over the world. Martha was a charter member of Congregation Brit Shalom in State College. She was a deeply serious person. Her interests were broad, ranging from politics to music and most recently, medical practice. She held strong views on many topics. This fund supports Congregation Brit Shalom, a Reform congregation of 200 families and singles open to Jews of all backgrounds who seek Jewish community and Jewish education.
