Over the course of her distinguished career, Lynne Sanders worked as an elementary classroom teacher, reading and curriculum specialist, elementary school principal, and teacher educator. From her own experience in the schools, she knew the important role teachers play in their young students' development. The Lynne Sanders Scholarship Fund was established to provide scholarships to graduating State College Area High School students pursuing a degree in elementary education, and who exhibit academic excellence, a strong work ethic, and positive attitude toward life and learning.
