Kim-Li Kimel Volleyball Scholarship Fund
Kim-Li Kimel served as assistant or head coach of the State High Girls Volleyball Team for four years (1994-1998) and head coach of the Boys Volleyball Program for 20 years (1999- 2019). Her career was highlighted by multiple district, league, and tournament championships, including PIAA quarterfinal and semi-final appearances, and a PIAA State Championship in 2010. Her commitment to student-athletes both on and off the court has resonated through the lives of her players and their families. After Tom and Carolyn Smith graduated from State High in 1950 and 1953, respectively, they became lifelong fans of State High athletics, devoted members of our community, and compassionate and loving grandparents. Their love of volleyball only grew as their granddaughters participated in youth and PIAA volleyball programs by playing, managing, and coaching. With gratitude, and in recognition of Coach Kimel's efforts, Mr. and Mrs. Smith were inspired to establish the Kim-Li Kimel Volleyball Scholarship Fund to benefit one or more players from each of State High’s varsity volleyball teams every year.
