Joanna Ultman Ramage Memorial Art and Artisitic Design Scholarship Fund
Joanna Ultman Ramage was born in State College, where she graduated in the top tier of her class from State High. Throughout high school, she was determined and self-motivated as a gymnast, high school diver, soccer player, and student council member. Nothing held her back, not a congenital hearing loss and not a diagnosis of Crohn's disease. She went on to graduate Phi Beta Kappa from Penn State University where she majored in integrative arts and became a graphic designer for Adidas and Abercrombie. At Adidas, her gymnastics background and love for design intersected - she was a part of a team that designed the U.S. Women's Gymnastics team uniforms. Joanna had a unique ability of making friends and keeping them for life. She stayed in touch with people from every phase of her journey. Her husband, devoted family, and special friends surrounded her with love during her life and were there for her when she died on June 20, 2016, at age 41.
This scholarship will be given to one student each year who is a State College Area High School or Delta Program High School graduating senior, demonstrates special skills in fine arts, visual arts, or art design, and is pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited institution such as a university, college, community college, or vocational school; excluding online post-secondary schools.
