Jean and Kevin Morooney Girls Soccer Fund
In 2007, 33 former players and coaches of the State High Girls Soccer team returned to State College from across the country to celebrate the 20th year of the girls’ soccer program. Jean and Kevin Morooney spent a combined total of more than 25 years serving as head coach of the team. This fund was started by former players and their parents to honor the Morooney family and their ongoing support for the State High Girls Soccer program. The State High Girls Soccer team ranks among the top teams in Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) history and routinely competes at both the district and state levels. After graduating, more than 50 players continued competing on the soccer fields at the collegiate, varsity, or club level. The Jean and Kevin Morooney Girls Soccer Fund will support the State High Girls Soccer team, as players learn more than just the rules of the game but also teamwork, sportsmanship, and life lessons.
