Harold B. Black Family Donor Advised Fund
For 27 years, Harold Baxter Black served in the U.S. Navy, with shipboard tours in both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He also served a tour in-country in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. He took pride in training the young men who served with him. In 1993, Harold moved to the State College area with his wife, Barbara Sherlock. He was a member of the State College Elks Lodge 1600, twice serving as Exalted Ruler. Harold was involved with several Elks’ programs, including those that supported youth sports, assistance for those with disabilities, and distribution of toys and food to needy families. This fund honors Harold's memory, his commitment to his country and community, and provides an avenue for his children and grandchildren to collaborate on community investments. As a donor advised fund, the organizations may change each year depending on where the donor-advisors see the greatest need.
