Global Connections is a community-based, non-profit organization, affiliated with the Pennsylvania State University and Centre County United Way. The mission is to strengthen the cultural fabric of our diverse community through partnerships, service, education, and advocacy. This is accomplished by extending assistance to internationals and offering programs and events that enable intercultural learning and sharing for both internationals and local residents. Throughout the academic year, at least six formal events are offered, including cultural lunches, a poetry reading, a children’s festival, and a women’s international night. Global Connections’ programs are open to all interested individuals, and volunteers are always welcome! This fund supports the mission and programming of Global Connections, bringing our community together and moving forward toward better mutual cultural understandings.
