Frederick J. Kissinger Fund in memory of Jack Kissinger
This fund was established by Fred Kissinger in memory of his brother, Jack, who at the age of four was stricken with encephalitis, stopping his brain and childhood development. Their mother, Alice, cared for Jack for 47 years until she was no longer able. He then resided at the Skills group home until his death in 1993. Fred later passed away in 2015 but will be fondly remembered by all. Born in Williamsport, Fred was a 1959 graduate of SCAHS, served in the PA National Guard during the Berlin Wall Crisis, and later joined his father’s real-estate business, which grew to become Kissinger Bigatel & Brower Realtors. This fund supports the wonderful work that Skills provides in our community—making specialized homes for our loved ones and providing a wide variety of services so that individuals with disabilities can live self-determined lives.
