Community Help Centre Fund
Centre Helps (formerly Community Help Centre) was founded in 1971 by a group of Penn State students seeking to provide help to members of the community with substance-related issues. The hotline program expanded into a 24-hour service that now includes emotional support, crisis intervention, education, and information and referral. To further support identified needs of the community, Centre Helps developed programming to assist with basic needs and to provide alcohol and other drug education. Since its inception, Centre Helps has been staffed by a committed corps of volunteers; volunteerism is integral to the organization's core mission and structure. This legacy of generosity and service continues to guide Centre Helps today.
